Petco

All Petco’s around my area are terrible, but this location is particularly abysmal. The animals always appear sick and/or injured, and the enclosures are improper, dirty, and smell. The fish section is especially horrific. These pictures are only a few of the many dying/dead fish they sell on one occasion that I went there. They do not even attempt to train their employees regarding the proper medications/treatment options, and the fish are just left to suffer and die. The information that I overheard an employee/manager telling customers who were buying fish was appallingly incorrect and alarming; likely why all their fish are dead and dying. So much suffering and abuse in these places as a result of corporate rapaciousness. These chain pet stores need to be immediately shut down permanen

The state of the animals are horrible. There was over 10 leopard geckos crammed into one tank with no hides. The humidity levels in the crested gecko tank were extremely low, didn’t look like it’s been misted regularly. This location needs to spend more time prioritizing, their animals, health and care. Do not buy reptiles from here, they seem to be in horrible condition and could be sick.

We went to **Petco in Clifton Park to buy fish for my 3 and 5 year old and had a very disappointing experience. As soon as we walked in, the store smelled strongly of pet urine. It was busy, but when we went to the fish section, there was no one available to help us. We waited in line for 15 minutes just to ask for assistance. About 10 minutes later, a new employee came back to help us, clearly on what seemed like her first day. Instead of supporting her and helping us (since we had already been waiting close to 30 minutes), the cashier came back and helped another dad who had just walked up with older children. This is one of those hard to write, but needs to be written reviews. I live near by, and many times out of convience come in for my pet needs. There is an small older man (Rob) who is kinder and more helpful than any person ive met. He is Mr petco with care for his job. This is the part that is hard. Someone, any one of you that work with this man, please talk to him about his hygene. The moment he comes near you the smell is beyond offensive, litterly makes your eyes water, I cant get through the screen and reciept questions fast enough to get out of the store! Be decent enough to tell him, sometimes the hard conversations are neccessary. God bless

My purchase was ready for pickup on time. The cashier was very pleasant, and nice even though it was late in the day.
