Pet Supplies Plus West Springfield

I was just here. I typically get my crickets online now because of quantity and quality issues with in store supplies. I asked for 150 large crickets when I went into this store. Apparently everyone was on break, according to the cashier. Eventually after waiting 20 minutes the cashier decided she would get them. She then portioned out one small bag and claimed it to be 150 crickets. I watched her collect these using a Dubai roach container (one of those square containers they keep their roaches and other pre-portioned live feeders in); the bag couldn’t have had more than 75 in it. When I double checked she seemed to question it herself. I did not finish this purchase unfortunately and I needed to get some for my critters while I await my next supply. The West Springfield Pet Supplies Plus may seem unassuming, but the grooming staff here are truly exceptional. We’ve used grooming services at various locations, but this one stands out. Unlike other stores that struggle with staff turnover and appointment availability, this location consistently delivers quality care. Most recently, our dog was groomed by Michael. He treated her with such kindness and respect—gently grooming her, remembering that she’d been thirsty when I dropped her off, and showing great patience and care with our senior pup. This used to my favorite pet store in the area but things have really gone downhill. They used to have so many amazing tanks but ever since they removed all those tanks from the back area and turned it into more of a dog supply area, they’re clearly neglecting creatures that aren’t dogs or cats. I used to love going here for all their cool creatures, but it’s like they’ve stopped caring. All their fish tanks have terrible algae bloom, way overcrowded goldfish tanks, their herps have stuck shed and no where to fully soak or rub against for deshedding (except maybe each other, which is another issue because bearded dragons, leopard geckos, etc. should not be cohabitated!!) The carpet is terrible, as it harbors bacteria and people in the exotic pet hobby know not to use it. You keeping these

Mo and Jose really helped me change my mind about the customer service here. A couple of months ago I did a review how u would not return because of the poor customer service, but everyone said something this time, they offered assistance. The pretty black woman with the strawberry blonde hair was really nice to greet and say goodbye to me. I felt valued as a long term customer—especially one who claimed they would not return. I am glad I did. Thank you for making this a better experience for me. Jose was really informed on what could help me and Mo guided me to where I needed to go. This is how customers service should be everywhere. Teamwork.

Pet supplies plus is one of the best. The people are knowledgeable and always willing to help. I see many of the same people working there so I assume it’s a pretty good place to work. You can always order ahead and pick up. Because they’re not a huge chain retailer, they sometimes have low stock. I haven’t tried their veterinary services, but I’m sure it’s worth it!
