P.A.W.S. of Tinley Park

We adopted our boy Zenith back in September and it was a wonderful process. The staff at the shelter are very welcoming and are so caring of the animals. When we saw his brother was returned to the shelter and up for adoption in December, we couldn't not welcome him into the family as well! The process was just as smooth the second time. We got responses from the adoption team less than 12 hours after submitting our applications both times. They really care for the animals here. These two have their menace moments because they are 10mo old huskies but are by far the best pups we’ve had. Despite having spent most of their lives at the shelter, they came home already potty trained and knowing basic commands. You can tell the staff and volunteers really take the time to work with the animals

Adopted this sweet boy last week. It was a very smooth process, met him, filled out the application and took him home the next day. I imagine it was a smoother experience because he's a 6mo old husky and adolescent huskies are not for the weak and we checked all the boxes. Maybe he didn't get a lot of applications. Reading the comments here are a little disappointing. P.A.W.S. is a fantastic shelter run by volunteers who love animals. They are not a retail store with a customer service department. A lot of the people with negative comments here are expecting retail-level "the customer is always right" experiences from a place trying to manage strays, medical needs, emotional and physical needs of anxious animals in a time where shelters are overcrowded and inflation is running rampant.

We welcomed Pebbles into our family on 8/1/2025 after her heartbreaking story touched so many. The selection process was very thorough, and it’s clear the team takes great care in matching families with the right pet. Pebbles has settled in beautifully—it feels as though she’s been with us her whole life. She’s such a happy little senior, gets along wonderfully with her new sister, and brings us so much joy. The staff was responsive, communicative, and supportive throughout the process, making sure our meet and greet was smooth and stress-free. We are so grateful for the care they put into every step of the adoption journey.❤️🐾🐶

Before I start, I’ve heard plenty of good things about the staff and how kind they are but the adoption process is absolutely abysmal and shameful. I was interested in adopting a dog from this shelter and followed through with their email process. I responded immediately and was eager to make the process as smooth as possible. I was met with late or no responses for over 48 hours, just for the only email I received telling me the dog I was interested in had already been adopted. I’m glad the pup has a home but this type of behavior from whoever runs the emails is preventing pets from finding loving homes.

P.A.W.S. was so Amazing! We adopted Trixie (8) and Sadie Gracie (2) (aka Gracie). Everyone at this Tinley Park shelter was so friendly, patient and caring. We couldn’t have asked for a better adoption/process. Both cats started to feel right at home with us within hours. They’re the sweetest ladies and get along great!!
