Paws Learn in Paradise

Lori was so amazing for our fearful reactive dog, Bandit. He’s always had terrible leash manners and been hard to manage when people come over. We recently had a baby which has made it all the more difficult. We heard about Lori through a coworker and how she helped his dog. She was amazing with our boy! You can tell she took the time to get him to trust her and then to help him unlearn bad habits while building his confidence for more appropriate behaviors. She sent updates and pictures throughout. He needed a little extra time which Lori provided for no extra fee. We really appreciated her seeing him through and not sending him home till she thought he was ready. He made such an improvement through this training. He does great sitting in his place and not rushing when people come over. H

I can’t recommend this dog trainer highly enough. I brought my nine-year-old dog Bear in, he has always been extremely nervous, not comfortable around other dogs and he also did resource guarding. I honestly wasn’t sure how much change was possible at his age, but I was completely blown away by the results. He came home a whole different dog—so much more confident, relaxed, and comfortable in himself. Lori was patient, knowledgeable, and truly understood my dog’s needs. The transformation was remarkable, and it was clear that everything was done with care and compassion. I’m so glad I decided to do this, I only wish I had done it sooner. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate—this experience was absolutely worth it.

Our puppy Archie was a rescue from a large litter in Mexico. As a puppy, he was very sensitive to loud noises and he was anxious around other dogs. Lori and her partner took him for 4 weeks and the experience was life changing. archie is now se well behaved. He is wonderful with other dogs and non reactive to loud noises. I didn’t originally want to send him but I am so glad that I did. Lori helped us before we got Archie with all of our anxious worries and was able to take him when we went out of town. Trusting and working with Lori has truly been life-changing for our fearful dog (Diego had been beaten by his past owner, before we rescued him). He was fearful of most people, especially men. He was stubborn on leash, and was most often not responding to commands. Lori's effective approach, focused on trust, building his confidence and teaching him how to properly behave with other dogs and humans. The 3-week stay he had at her place made an unbelievable difference. Diego's fear of people has drastically decreased, his confidence grown exponentially, walks are super enjoyable with him heeling constantly, and he responds reliably to commands. Lori and Paws Learn in Paradise has been life changing!! It's been a year since we fortunately found Lori and Paws Learn - we started off with training, and now we also leave our pup for boarding. Lori and her family are lifesavers and the training is truly transformative! For so long, we had been looking to find boarding for our large German Shepherd pup, but didn't have great experiences with daycares, dog sitters, and other trainers who didn't seem to have experience with active and anxious pups.
