Good people , very helpful ! Either looking for a new pet or have stray cats you feed to help out our community. Stray/feral cats are great for keeping rodents, snakes, and other wild animals out of your yard. We have to watch the feline population though, so that's where we need to trap, spay, neuter, then release back where you trapped them. They are great! Thanks !

They do great work! We picked up our Cheddar there a few weeks ago. The staff was amazing and the facility is super clean. Our community is lucky to have them.

Very disappointed!!! Found a kitten 7+ months ago. We’ve been taking care of him and he has become a loved part of the family.. we scheduled an appointment to have him neutered this past Tuesday, I dropped him off, about 45 minutes later I received a phone call saying that he escaped and ran away….. I’ve been in touch with OHD, they’ve let me spend several hours last week on their property looking in hopes to find our family member but it doesn’t seem too promising that we will see him again, The doctor/staff assures us they will call if the kitty shows back up… I guess we will see??? UPDATE!!! The staff at Oconee Humane Department did not give up on Patches the cat. I received a call from them, they had caught a cat in one of the traps and sent me a picture, unfortunately it wasn’t Pat

This is a nice shelter where animals are treated well. However, I want to relate our experience as it may help others. Few days ago we adopted a 3 month old dog (Onyx), which on paper was vaccinated and de-wormed. He arrived home and was extremely lethargic and at night started coughing. At the wellness visit at the Vet a few days after he was diagnosed with Kennel cough and pneumonia and at least 3 different types of worms. I am sure things can happen but I was not prepared for a $300+ Vet bill. I thought we were bringing home a healthy puppy, but this was not the case. I am not sure what future dog owners can do, but I think the Oconee Humane society should ensure animals' health at adoption. This was really not the case for us.

Very professional and kind. They neutered my two kittens and most people qualify for a voucher for a reduced priced service.
