I cannot say enough good things about this veterinary clinic and Dr. Spellman. I recently moved to Austin from Los Angeles, and the difference in care, experience, and transparency has been truly refreshing. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine warmth and kindness. Dr. Spellman took the time to sit with me, explain everything thoroughly, and treat my cat as if he were his own. My 7-year-old cat had a neuter, vaccines, lab work, and GI concerns addressed, and I felt completely confident and reassured every step of the way. The personal follow-up call to review results meant so much to me. In contrast to my experiences in Los Angeles where you are often asked to pay hundreds of dollars just to walk in the door, questioned in a crowded lobby, and pressured with scare tact

I had such a wonderful experience at North Lamar Veterinary Clinic and can’t recommend them enough!! From the moment we walked in, Dr. Spellman himself greeted us and personally walked us back to the exam room, which immediately set the tone. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and took the time to ask thoughtful questions. It was very clear how much he genuinely cares about the animals and the people who bring them in. The entire office has such a warm, personal feel. You can tell this is a place built on long-standing relationships. There are so many photos of the doctor with patients over the years, along with cards and notes from grateful pet parents, which really speaks volumes. I took my cat to Dr. Spellman after reading tons of his reviews. He’s the absolute best guy. Wonderful sense of humor, fast at diagnosing and treating. He took the time to show me what was happening with my cat, he took the time to ask me about myself, my fiancé, my Mom, all while examining my cat and taking notes. He was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. I will keep taking my cats to him. His staff was great too, really sweet ladies. I’m really happy I found them!

North Lamar Veterinary Clinic is hands down one of the best vet offices I’ve ever been to. The team is incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely friendly, and you can truly feel how much they love and care about your animals. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make you feel comfortable with every decision. It’s such a relief to know your pets are in compassionate, capable hands. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinary clinic that treats your animals like family.

Monty and Zadie have been coming here since they were 10 weeks old. They are now 3 and 4. I like to bring them for their annuals and maintenance needs such as prevention meds and dental care. They are always available to answer questions or provide guidance. Zadie got pregnant and they don’t do X-rays. I was sad about it but I did bring her puppies for their first shots!
