I want to share my experience so other pet owners can make informed decisions. Dr. McCorkle has been my veterinarian for many years, and I have brought multiple pets to this clinic over time. Because of that long history, what I experienced recently was especially disappointing. During a prior visit concerning my dog’s eye, surgical removal of the eye was presented as the primary recommendation. Although I asked about medical management options, I did not feel those options were supported or encouraged. I chose to pursue antibiotic treatment independently and monitored her closely. We have been bringing our pets here for many years, but have finally decided to leave. In hindsight, we probably should have left sooner. Our 8-year-old golden retriever has experienced multiple symptoms over the past four years. We first brought her in in 2022, and Dr. McCorkle ran basic blood work and reported that everything looked fine. Years later, she was still showing the same signs, including lethargy, loss of appetite, and not wanting to play, and we were again told everything was normal. When we suggested she might have a tick-borne illness, this was dismissed with the explanation that there are not many ticks in the area. After repeatedly being talked down to, we ultimately left the practice. Our new veterinarian immediately ran blood work and diagnosed her with Anaplasmosis.

DR McCorkle recently did dental surgery on my senior dog. The dog recovered nicely with a healthier mouth. Dr. Mc Corkle is treating my cat for blood in her urine, methodically and one step at a time, to find the real cause. I have taken her to two other clinics with no results. He discusses his treatment plans and all involved with them. He is very gentle and caring with my cat. He does not do unnecessary tests. The staff are kind and professional. I would recommend Dr McCorkle and Mountain Valley Vet Hospital to anyone wanting quality care for their pets.

Dr. McCorkle and his staff have taken care of our pets for years. Everyone is professional and caring. I trust Dr. McCorkle to help me make decisions that are best for my pets. Everyone, there knows our pets are part of our family. They have seen us through new puppies all the way to the end of life. The most important thing about MVVH is the love and compassion for our pets and for us.

Awesome Vet in Leicester area, when my dog LOVES to go to the vet...they are doing something right! Dr McCorkle is very good at explaining everything about what your pet would benefit from.
