I don’t usually write reviews but I feel like I could put some peace of mind for some pawrents bringing their dogs to this vet. I brought my dog to get a dental cleaning. At first I was nervous because I didn’t get many instructions and didn’t have a pre assessment to check in his teeth with the vet. I even thought about canceling the appointment because I had many concerns but I knew my dog’s dental health was important so we went with it. This is not like other veterinary clinics, this place is BUSY BUSY! You don’t see the vet because of how busy they are so your contact will be the front desk ladies doing the face to face work with clients. Drop off is hectic. I contemplated whether to give this review. I have trusted Dr Julia with my dogs for many years with no complaints. However, this last time my dog was very sick, and my experience was heartbreaking. I know Julia's team most likely did all they could do to save my 4 year old mini heeler; Bailey. She had spent the night at their vet clinic hospital for three nights and it was mutually decided she needed to go to Pet Emergency for further tests. I agreed to pick her up in the am and take her in for an ultrasound. When we arrived at Mountain Empire Veterinarian, we were taken to a side room. The vet technician came in the room and told my husband and I, "Im sorry but Bailey didn't make it through the night." I just started bawling uncontrollably and in total shock. This place is great. They are reasonably priced and helped me squeeze into an appointment on short notice which I really appreciate. Also I really like how their appointments are structured. You drop off your pet in the morning and can then pick them up in the afternoon. This is way more efficient and convenient for work schedules. Thanks for keeping my cats healthy!

I have been with Dr. Leese for over 10 years. I love her and the tech that has been there for many, many years. HOWEVER, in the last couple years the front staff has taken on a rude gatekeepers attitude. Don't even think about letting the staff know about something that was missed and documented last time - they don't want to hear it!!! i was shut down, told they "didn't miss anything last time" (even though i was told they did) I am appalled that Dr. Leese has employees that are so comfortable putting a hand up in a customer's face and telling them to go somewhere else if i dont like it. THEN, THEN saying "bye! bye! have a nice day. BYE!" Yes, it was the girl with the round glasses. Maybe Dr. Leese will say bye to her! Dr. Leese? do you even know??🐶

Julia's Jungle and Mountain Empire Vet adopted us a KITTEN DYING OF CANCER, then said we'd have to pay them a surrender fee to take him back. My son's care team recommended he get an emotional support animal so we began looking and he adopted a five month old kitten from Julia's Jungle. The kitten looked a little sick but we were told there was an upper respiratory infection in the kennels and it was nothing to worry about. We were told all animals are examined by Dr. Julia Leese, who owns both Mountain Empire Veterinary Services and Julia's Jungle, prior to adoption and if he wasn't better in a week Dr. Leese would take another look at him.
