Montrose Animal Shelter

We got Forth today and what an amazing experience we had at Montrose Animal Shelter. Warm, friendly and compassionate staff and a great match. Forth is now Rebel Rowzer Clayton. We can't recommend them enough. Thank you so much. Is the dog Grace that was adopted 3 days ago his sister?

The non kill shelter that kills dogs over simple fixes like ear infections. There was a pitbull years ago that was in lost and found. Then available for adoption. I said right away I wanted him. They ended up putting him to sleep over some supposed infection when the dog was totally fine a few days prior. This was years ago 2017 but I’ll never forget it and figured I’d share my experience since it was rather traumatic. Don’t think this place is a god send. They kill dogs over simple fixes!

Great knowledgeable staff . Faculty was / is well maintained . Wife found her forever kitten " Rocko ".

A staff that truly cares about the animals they shelter, foster's who open their homes and hearts to animals and help people and the pets being fostered an opportunity to bond and find the right fits, and an adoption process when those people/pet connections are found that is enjoyable and genuinely feels rewarding make this shelter/service the place to go to find your next new to each other pet! I can't thank them enough for the care they provided to our new to each other fur baby, and the welcoming and appreciative feel they gave us. The adoption fees are very reasonable and cover everything you and your new family member needs to start your new lives together. Highly recommend you stop by for your next pet, or to see about helping out if you just want to get your furry friend fix!

The staff was exceptional! We adopted 2 kitties just before closing. They happily processed us. We were given 2 hand crocheted blankets which the kitties love!
