Growing up in the area my family and I have adopted a few dogs from Montgomery county, and honestly every dog has been a sweet angel. Our most recent adoption was of a beautiful pitbull Siberian husky mix and let me tell you she is perfect. Truly so sweet and loving, ready to learn and eager to please. I couldn’t imagine my life without her. The staff is more than helpful; they go above and beyond to make sure your beloved family member is well taken care of. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I love them!!
I actually had a Karen in my neighborhood that called the police on me also animal control. The officer was so nice. He actually seen that. My dog was in great condition. Then animal control came today and said I have to renew my dogs license in December. She complained that my dog was outside too long in the cold, but it was a complete lie. I am a very good dog mother and I’m just happy that the men from animal control were so understanding and also they just didn’t take her side. He did a welfare check on my dog. My dogs was very well behaved not even a bark. I have my dog on a 30 foot tie and I took him out this morning. Yes it was chilly but he cried and cried to go out. He loves to be outside. I walk him every day and he always has water and food, but I guess she told the animal contr
The staff really cares about the animals! They no longer house or adopt out cats, just dogs since 2019. My husband and I adopted our new fur baby after going daily for almost 2 weeks. There are constantly new animals coming in. Staff have worked with us to wein our girl off her anxiety medication, even going so far as to take xrays and give anxiety medication to our pup the day after we brought her home because she would get so excited and worked up she'd throw up. Since then she has been the smartest, sweetest, and happiest girl ever! Would highly recommend if you're looking to add a new family member! Adopt don't shop!
I picked up my best friend here. The day I met Jen, I knew that I was taking her home, and I did, same day! The staff here is super friendly, and they take care of the animals here; I've had Jen for maybe two years now, but after seeing that Facebook Post from the Humane Society Of Greater Dayton, nows as good a time as ever to adopt, donate, and help anyway you can. Don't adopt if you don't know if you can handle it, each pet deserves a happy, loving home—a guy just up the road from me was arrested yesterday for having 31 cats, a dog, and an opossum stuffed in his house. He was stealing animals from the neighborhood, and stuffing them in cages within his house, including a cat of mine of nine years, Mr. Pete, he was among them. Some people don't deserve the luxury of having a furry frie
You know when the unexpected happens and there is someone out there that saves the day??? Well...I just wanted to give a big thank you to Olivia at the Montgomery County Resource Center for saving the day for me and my new fur baby :) I recently adopted a dog and had only had her for about a week. Her and I were running some errands and unbeknownst to me she gets car sick. Eek! Yes...all over the car seat and her leash! Yuck!!! I pulled over into the BP gas station. They were wonderful and helped out with getting me some paper towels. I was able to clean up what I could but I needed some water and definitely a new leash for my sweet girl because we had more travels to accomplish. I was close to the Resource Center. I drove over and was warmly greeted by this lovely young lady, Olivia. She
