I was visiting friends, here from New York. I have worked and volunteered at shelters for the past 15 years and it’s a bit of a hobby of mine to visit the local shelters when I travel. When I visit a shelter that helps 8000 animals a year I can honestly say I don’t expect it to be nearly as clean or upbeat as MACC. The dog kennel area was very clean and the dogs were remarkably quiet. In my experience, this means that they get a good level of enrichment in the morning before perspective doctors walk through the kennels, which is absolutely great best practices in motion. The staff were super friendly when we had some questions to ask. My friend and I spoke to two very nice volunteers in the cat area. It was a wonderful conversation and there were some hugs involved. I couldn’t be happier

I originally found Metro through Miss Adrian's post. I fell in love with her little "WHAT'S THIS?" videos. We originally had two older and very senior dogs. We adopted a sweet cat from family who very much needed a friend. I looked at every rescue and even my local Sumner County animal shelter. I took the gamble and drove to Metro hoping to find our calico princess a new best friend. It was well worth it! My oldest dog is from a shelter in North Carolina so I am familiar with how most of them function. The way Metro and the staff went above and beyond amazed me. I love that I was given a bit of information about every cat I was there to visit and given the time to meet them all. It was all very clean and organized. Everyone we interacted with was sweet and well informed about who each cat

I've been always thinking and considering of adopting a dog ... So, I visited the Metro Animal Care. The receptionist was very kind professional, and helpful. After I signed in, they directed me to the hall where they keep the dogs in cages, so I can choose one. It was difficult to choose since most of the dogs were adorable. Eventually I picked one, then I returned to the receptionist and told them that I chose one, they asked me to fill an adoption form and wait for my name to be called. Approximately 15 min later, they called me to verify my information and to explain all the details related to the adoption process. 10 min later I had the chance to meet the dog that I chose so we can get to know each other better. The whole process from the moment I walked in till I walk out took

I adopted my dog here in December 2025 had the best, and smoothest, experience! They were SUPER busy this day, but I came in right when they opened and I knew who I wanted. Everything was super seamless and the staff was very nice. I left there without having to pay the adoption fees either because I had been waiting awhile just to pay. Everything was done within 1.5 hours i'd say. I definitely recommend doing business with them!

We had a stray puppy show up in our neighborhood, he tried getting into my neighbors house but they weren’t able to house him. We fostered him for the night but had plans to leave town the next day. We took the puppy to MACC in hopes they could take the sweet puppy in. They were able to take him, it took a little while for the intake but Jessie at the front desk was so helpful and nice!
