Customer Reviews
The volunteers that work here are really dedicated to ensuring the success of their animals. They are constantly on the daily training with the treat program, with positive results as the outcome. I would recommend this adoption place to anyone looking to adopt a dog. The building is clean and in order and has a good selection of fluff to choose from to make a good buddy for life 🥰
All the staff here are very friendly and seem very passionate about their work. The trainers are very knowledgeable and will help you with a plan for your new companion. I've brought Korra back to visit a couple times since adoption and she gets so uncharacteristically excited when seeing the workers, so she obviously has fond memories of them.
This is the only true no-kill shelter in Colorado. Not only are there amazing animals to adopt here (which I did!), but your adoption fees and donations go towards helping the animals with longer stays who may not have a good fit right now but also deserve to live. The staff are truly kind and care about the animals.
Despite having had many, many companions over the years, we had never adopted from a shelter and didn't quite know what to expect. Finding a new friend is a very different experience from a new friend finding you and I am happy to report that with MaxFund, everything went as perfectly as it possibly could! There was a whole line of helpers who facilitated the meetcute between Ellie Mae and us, from my coworker friend who sent a link to a different MaxFund dog on the website, to Tamara who is an extraordinary matchmaker, to Kess (please excuse any misspelling) who made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we walked through the door, to Erica (again, please excuse any misspelling) who was in charge of the actual introduction. My husband and I were both impressed with how much th
TL;DR: don't bother applying to adopt unless you have the privilege of staying at home with the dog or bringing a dog with you to work. They require that you check on a dog at least every 5 hours except at night. They are inconsistent in their consideration of potential adopters and dogs. They refused to let me see one animal because of my schedule, allowed me to see another despite it, and then declined my application to adopt because of schedule limitations I was very upfront about. They asked my reference person questions that were obviously answered in their responses to the previous questions asked. Their adoption procedure is bureaucratic with no consideration for how a person and a dog's personalities mesh, and they would rather hold onto an animal for an ideal-on-paper match than
