Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our beloved cocker spaniel. Dr. Kindermann came in on her day off to help support us and spent ample time with us, giving us all possible treatment plans along with the pricing and probability that our pup would return to normal. She was so patient with us. Lucy's prognosis was very grim and treatment would mean prolonged suffering and a trip to Madison that was still likely to result in saying goodbye to her. When we made the decision to euthanize, we didn't want to do it right away. We wanted to give our children time to say goodbye and give our sweet girl some last cuddles and memories, so we took her home for a few hours.
