I started my German Shepherd in one-on-one training sessions when he was five months old. He is a working line, and I was looking for help with obedience and general training. During the initial session, Devin and I spoke at length about training and my goals for Finley. From there, we began working on obedience, socialization, and many other aspects of training. Throughout the sessions, Devin not only worked with Finley but also taught me the same skills so I could continue training on my own. Can not recommend Maine Refined K9 enough. We initially signed our chocolate lab Bohdi up for three week board and train. At the close of the third week we were so impressed we asked to add another week and it paid off big time. Devin worked around our families schedule to ensure we got to visit and learn what he had been working so hard on with Bohdi. The whole crew is very polite and professional. I sent my German Shepherd puppy to spend 3 weeks learning obedience and he finished a different dog! He is just turning 6 months old and he has a great foundation for basic obedience, respect, and good manners. He had fun, too! I have learned so much, as well. I now know how to use new tools I had never used before. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend letting Devin train your dog at Maine Refined K9. I definitely plan to continue with them for personal protection work.

I’m a senior with a one year old pit/ lab mix. When I brought her home I figured I’d be 83 when she turned 10! I’m very petite and not an alpha person. My fear was of being pulled off my feet and breaking a hip. The groomer referred me to Devin and I couldn’t be more grateful! My dog was pure joy but not trained, she’s a Rescue, and already my arm hurt from her pulling. It was a big investment but I’m very glad I took her to him. She no longer pulls, will go to her “place” when told, basic commands that I never could have taught her. He also “trained “ me how to be more assertive and that was a bigger challenge I think! When I took her in for a follow up visit she went crazy wild with excitement seeing Devin! He has a sixth sense with dogs, it’s amazing to watch. He was so good to my pup

We took our eight month old Aussie, Molly, to Devin for three weeks of boarding and training, and what a difference it made. You can tell Devin has a passion for what he does and has an ability to make a connection with the dogs he trains. He emphasizes positivity and making it fun for the dog, which makes it fun for everyone and relieves some of the stress on the dog and owner He involved us in the training along the way so we wouldn’t be completely lost when we brought Molly home.
