Magnificent Mutts Rescue

We adopted our puppy in early May and were so excited to welcome him home. But just ten days later, his health took a sudden and severe turn. Because he was so new to us, we didn’t yet know what was normal for him, so we didn’t realize how sick he truly was until he was visibly deteriorating and, ultimately, on his deathbed. After starting treatment for what we thought were routine worms, he rapidly declined. Emergency vets diagnosed him with two types of worms, an underlying bacterial infection, and severe anemia. His entire intestinal tract had shut down. We were told our only options at that point were to hospitalize him immediately or put him down. Again, this was just 10 days after bringing him home. Update: December 29th, 2022, we lost our little baby boy today. Stark passed away in my arms. Please do not adopt from this organization. It could be the worst decision of your life, as it was for me. They do not care about their dogs. They need to be shut down. The person responsible for his adoption was Jessica Rottman. She did not check up on our adoptee the entire time we had him even after this post was made the first time, she did not inquire about Stark. Not once did they reach out about him. We were left guessing and in tears for the last three years.. I'm absolutely heartbroken. I'll always remember you Starky boy!! We adopted an awesome dog from this organization. We had a great adoption experience with Mag Mutts! They reviewed our application and checked our references quickly and expedited our adoption when we found our match! They have a great Facebook page for adopters where people can ask questions, share stories, and post fun videos and pics of their pets. This allows us to keep up with Kaylee's siblings, share our stories and questions, and enjoy other Mag Mutt pets!

I’m only writing this review to help future potential foster/adopters that are considering working with this rescue. Anyone who devotes as much time and energy into helping animals as folks at rescues do, should be given grace when things aren’t done perfectly. That said, I’m going to be honest and share our story. Our adoption experience through mag mutts was less than ideal, to say the least, and I wish we had known more before going through them. We ended up adopting two of the West Bank dogs they rescued last February. We were given very, very little information about these dogs’ lives before committing to this adoption, and looking back, we feel we were completely mislead. Any info we were given was incorrect. The best adoption I've experienced! Friday has been with me over 8yrs and is the best dog I've ever owned. Will definitely go to Magnificent Mutts when I'm ready for another rescue! #adoptdontshop
