Lucas County Canine Care & Control

One of the best assets Lucas County has to help in need dogs. Providing them with shelter and the possibility of adoption. I just started volunteering recently. It is by far the best thing I have done to lift my spirits in this evermore dysfunctional world we find ourselves in. If your heart needs a lift, I strongly recommend you volunteer helping animals that can not fend for themselves. The staff there truly have passion for what they do, and can use as much help as can be given. Maybe one will touch your heart and give you some unconditional love, only a rescue doggo can.

They do nothing! I’ve made two reports diffferent incidents and one of them the police were called out when a pitbull aggressively ran at me with my 5 month old growling I threw my baby in the car and tried to shut myself in, thankfully was able to climb on top of my car. I had video footage, the police and the dog warden did nothing. This dog still lives at one of my neighbors houses on Warwick Ave, 2 neighbors let their aggressive pitbulls out front of their yards to go potty. They’ve been seen by neighbors roaming the street, on my doorbell camera multiple times. It charged at me and was going to kill me had I not acted so quickly, it would have killed my baby

They gave us as much time as we needed and they were very nice and caring . This means a lot to us as this was very hard as is . Thank you for your sweet kind words and your compassion with my dog as he crossed over . I could hear you talking to him and that means a lot . They were sweet the whole time .

Put my dog down without my permission. KILLED an innocent dog!!! He had a home and a family there was no need to test him for re-adoption. Completely unacceptable.

Visited last evening and the staff was amazing. Made sure I was being helped and were extremely kind and friendly. They handled quite a few dogs while I was there and they were caring and compassionate towards them all. I can’t imagine how difficult that job must be at times but I am very grateful to have experienced that level of kindness despite some of the hazards of the job. Keep up the good work!
