I brought my two rescue golden retrievers to Michele’s Relationship Builder course. The dogs couldn’t be more different: the 4 yo female is a shy/reserved puppy mill mama, the 3 yo male is a happy, unfocused goofball. I was very happy with the structure of the lessons and the way skills build over time across the lessons. Michele adapted her approach quickly to the two dogs to meet their individual needs. It was a great experience for all three of us and we learned and benefited a lot. Michele is patient, kind, knowledgeable, and an excellent trainer. Highly recommend.

We brought our 9 month old (75lbs) German Shepherd, Ollie to Michele at Loyal Start and we are so happy we did. From the very first session Ollie was able to go on walks without pulling or trying to weave back and forth. Each session after that Michele helped us build a relationship with Ollie and focus on his skills and provide structure. Ollie is now a calmer and well-behaved 11 month old dog that we are proud to take out in public and get so many compliments! Michelle was great and so knowledgeable. She explained things in a way that helped me understand they why behind behavior. No question was dumb. And she was so great with Beau Beau. We appreciate all your help. Highly recommend her training program to anyone who needs help with a tough dog. We couldn’t be happier.

Michelle was very professional. Very prompt in returning our emails when we had questions, honest about our dogs’ breed and what behaviors can be expect… the good and the not so good, and how we as the owners were handling her. Before we brought our Dutch shepherd to her she was unruly. Our dog took us for walks not us taking her. She would jump up on us, pick on the grandkids and become aggressive towards other dogs. She now sits when told, doesn’t pick on the grandkids, will leave and drop objects, and come when told. We have learned how to handle her around other dogs making our outings enjoyable. Without Michelle’s help we would have a dog that we would not enjoy. With her help our dog is enjoyable and a great member of the family.

We were looking for a trainer who is certified, experienced, confident and offered a training program suitable for our needs. Michele offered these and much more. We were able to spend time at her training site so she could evaluate our puppy, but also so we could talk with her to get a sense of her approach. Michele is firm with her style and expectations and she will tell you why. She did a wonderful job explaining every technique and worked with both myself and our puppy to be sure we understood what we were supposed to do. I highly recommend her for your training needs.
