Mary took away all of our anxiety about leaving our three month old puppy alone. In December we got the first puppy of our lifetimes and, being retired, we stayed at home for three months doting on her. When friends came to meet Beazie, we observed that she was timid and it took her a while to become comfortable with each new person. We dreaded the inevitable time when we would both have to be away from the house and leave her in the care of someone else. I can't say enough good things about Mary Littlefield who takes care of our very timid cat when we travel, which we do often. Miss Violet usually streaks upstairs when she hears a car pull into the driveway, and there she keeps watch from the top step, expecting pillage and mayhem and the demise of us all .... unless it's Mary. Then she comes downstairs quickly and purrs loudly while directing long, meaningful glances toward her sitter. She's utterly shameless in her admiration for Mary. We try to ignore Miss Violet's outlandish behaviour, but sometimes wonder if we should spend more time at home -- put a little damper on this foolish infatuation.
