Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center

I recently adopted my new pup Sage from here and it was a great experience. I arrived less than an hour before closing time and they were all very helpful. Took extra time to allow me to fill out volunteer paperwork and let me meet Sage. They listened to me explain that I live with my grandmother and helped us find the perfect pup. The animals there all seem happy, healthy and are up to date on vet visits. The staff is very helpful and loving towards the animals. Sage is now happy in her forever home!

We adopted Oliver a few days ago and are smitten. We can’t recommend Little Shelter highly enough. It’s obvious how much everyone who works there loves and cares for the animals. This shelter should be the standard all other shelters strive for. We visited on Wednesday and returned to fill out the paperwork Thursday. They called our references and vet that evening and we brought Ollie home Friday evening. The file they gave us with all his medical exams, vaccinations, etc. was very thorough. They sent him home with food, toys, a collar and leash. I also appreciate that they microchip the dogs. If we are ever looking to adopt another dog I would return here in a heartbeat. I adopted a true Jem last week. She is a 4 year old shih tzu and is the sweetest girl ever. Little Shelter was so amazing. They took such great care of her until I was able to find this new addition to my life. The love from the staff was so evident. Every shelter animal should be lucky enough to go through the doors of Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption. I have been keeping in touch with Lori who helped with my adoption and the caring is so evident. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

We love our Cuervo!! Can’t say enough about Little Shelter. Extremely caring and professional staff. Thorough but smooth application and adoption process. Animals are well cared for, trained and groomed. Wonderful place to adopt and donate to! I highly recommend!!

I fell in love with a dog the moment I laid eyes on him, and I put down a deposit. I was asked to show proof that my dogs were fixed. One of my dogs is already fixed, and I handed over the paperwork within the timeframe requested. The other dog just came of age to be fixed, so I told the shelter that I had scheduled an appointment with my local vet to get it done. I was told the manager would call back around noon, but by 1:30 there was still no word. When I reached out, I was told the dog had been given to someone else. I understand that sometimes a dog finds another family, but keeping the deposit after not delivering the dog feels like a mistake in how this is run.
