I have been bringing my cat here for almost 3 years now and never had a problem up until now. I tried calling to get my cat gabba pentin that he’s been prescribed before and for well over a year now. I just wanted a few pills to hold him over until I could get him in next week. I was told no that he needed to be seen first. This caused a bunch of issues. My cat is uncomfortable, anxious and needs gabba pentin for when he’s brought to the vet and he was prescribed it to help with mouth pain and his appetite. The more I pushed to get him a couple pills, the more they said “maybe you should just get another vet”. Unprofessional. I’m literally trying to make an appointment for my cat for next week to be seen. They brought up an emergency vet multiple times. We are living in an insane world ri
I've been a fur baby Mama for 20+ years & I would not take my fur babies anywhere else! They took such good care of my two shitzu's, they both lived 16 years! Now I have a Lhasa Apso. I didn't take her to Lex Vet until I had her a couple of years... I got her rabies shots at Vetco (not recommended) but money was tight during Covid so I had to make it work. On Christmas eve her belly swelled like crazy! I had no idea what was going on. I took her to the emergency vet (blue pearl - waltham) and $1500 later they tell me she needs an $8500 surgery (emergency spay) because her Uterus is so swollen. I was beside myself! I went home, called 30+ places and NO one could help. It was between Christmas and New Years, no one was open, or had any slots and I did NOT have $8500 to throw around. Finall
They overcharge for most services. Tons better vets outside Lex. Pls find them instead of going to these folks.
I have used this practice for 4 years. I have always thought it was a bit of a money grab to be honest but they are local and have a good reputation so I put up with it. I have just started to use a different vet, out of town. The service and care are light years away. So much better, and they are actually transparent with costs.
They charge significantly higher rates than I expected. Initial registration for my kitten Lexi was several hundred dollars, and they quoted nearly $2,000 for a spay procedure. While the facility may offer quality care, these prices seem exorbitant. I took my kitten elsewhere and had her spay $300.
