Lassen County Animal Shelter

Doing a great job with limited resources. Clean facility and they provide dogs with social time and outdoor breaks. Please help them out by adopting!! I wish I could find a link to donate.. does anyone know the best way to help them out financially?

Before you try to bring any animal here just know its a kill shelter. The lady was quick to talk about euthanasia after looking at these two baby kittens & there’s nothing wrong with them, they were just stray , Sickening. The older women is also VERYYYY rude. Dont ever take a animal here if you find a stray.

This morning I had to take a deceased kitten to the Humane Society. A hard day for me. I was treated kindly by staff, a sympathetic ear and genuine care. No judgment, no unnecessary questions. Great job. And thank you😻😍

SAD ENDING STORY...I've had both good and bad luck there with the help. Not sure about this staff, but have been talked down to in the past. But a few years age had good luck with putting a favorite dog of ours. Normally yrs ago i put our animals and all the neighbors animals down, dogs, cats, horses, what ever they needed help with and could not afford to have done, But this time i could not put this girl down and took her to the pound for the needle, but i've paid for it forever since. They gave her a shot as i was watching, no problem, but then they started to move her to another room and she looked back at me with her big sad eyes with that look of, What did i do so bad that your doing this to me, i thought you loved me..

I don’t understand the poor reviews for a place that literally doesn’t profit off their care and compassion. We are fortunate to have these wonderful humans who do what they do. I had to put my old boy down. I was recommended to call here. When I tell you that the level of compassion and care in our time of sadness and need was unmatched…believe me, these people were godsends! Literally! They made our rough day manageable. They were so kind and caring! The way they treat their animals here is like they were family. I was in awe. I didn’t want to see my old boy over the rainbow bridge, but I’m glad it was here, at this place full of literal angels. I can’t thank them enough. I did call ahead. I was treated with kindness and respect We will definitely be back to rescue a sweet soul. Thank yo
