One of our Irish Wolfhounds, Tucker, woke with a lot of pain. He had been struggling with back or hip pain and when he was crying, we knew we needed to get him in. His regular vet couldn't see him for five more days, and other vets close by didn't answer or quoted extremely high rates just to be seen. We don't have a ton of funds for our doggies, but we don't want them in pain either! We were willing to drive the hour and twenty minutes when they said they could get him in and for a reasonable price. Once seen, they did have to order blood work to rule things out and prescribe three medications to help Tucker heal, so it was higher than anticipated but still reasonable. My bulldog mix had become incredibly sick. My normal vet was booked but suggested this vet. While my baby didn’t leave the way we hoped this clinic provided SO MUCH CARE and empathy and compassion. My wife had never had to put a pet to sleep before and they helped one of our saddest moments happen a bit easier. They even took a small mold of my baby girls paw and presented it to us at the end. This was an extremely painful experience but the vet and staff couldn’t have been more kind. I always always choose them as backup from Now on. Thank you all. Great place for first rate, quality care. I like how they have in-house acute care with knowledgeable doctors and staff. They try very hard, they care deeply and treat your animals like the family members you feel your 4- legged “ kids” are. Costs are a concern but isn’t everything you pay for a concern. They answer questions and f/u on my pets well being. I appreciate the staff as well as the doctors too. Update 7/11/25- Still remarkable care that I’m very happy about- I appreciate the in-house diagnostic testing too. Great staff, very caring vets. 5+ all the way.

This place is great everyone that works there is so nice and seem to care about the animals. Edit: Sadly I had to put my old girl down because of cancer and they where so kind they dimmed the light in the room let me bring in her favorite blanket. When it was time I asked for a few more minutes and they didnt argue or complain just gave it to me im very grateful for them making that horrible day as pleasant as possible

Jensen and his team are exceptional. Last year one of my pets experienced an accident. From the moment I brought Buffalo in the team showed compassion and handled the matter with expertise. I was blown away when weeks later I received a follow up card in the mail expressing their condolences. Thank you to Lamar Animal Medical Center for serving our community!
