Lakshmi Cow Sanctuary

Such a lovely roadside sanctuary! It’s very user-friendly and they provide food so visitors can feed the cows, which makes it a really meaningful experience. There are so many beautiful, big cows — gentle and impressive. A peaceful and special place to visit.

Really good place . They are a non profit purely running to feed cows and take care of them. The person there maintaining was really good and helpful. Fun place to interact with cows.. do take food with you if you plan to feed them ( cows love jaggery)

Amazing place! We came up from MD for a concert in NJ and had to make a stop here. I love cows and farm animals but only want to see them in safety and comfort like a sanctuary/rescue. You can tell the people here truly love and respect them. We brought some carrots to feed them but the gentleman we met actually brought us tons of fruits and vegetables that were donated to feed them with, and even cut up the apples for us so they were a better size for the cows - both cows and person were soooo sweet and caring. The cows actually looked happy and ran up to us for treats and pets. Would so recommend for any animal lovers. Thank you sir for helping us and the cows and thank you sweet cows for entertaining us through lots of pets and cuddles. P.S. Bring lots of yummies for them ♥️

I love cows and wanted to visit the sanctuary for my birthday. We were greeted by Joanna (I’m pretty sure that was her name) and she was so kind. She showed us how to feed the cows and she gave us a little information about each cow we saw. I can tell she really cared about the cows and they all looked well taken care of. We didn’t stay too long and we left a donation of course because I can’t believe an experience like this is free of charge!! Thank you Joanna and Lakshmi Cow Sanctuary, I can’t wait to come back! They're doing a great service through this sanctuary, saving cows from being slaughtered and taking care of them with no financial motive. Me and family have seen personally how much they are caring and how well they are providing not just shelter but quality food for the cows and other small animals in their sanctuary. A must visit place if you are around Stroudsburg.
