Lake County Animal Shelter

This is a great shelter. My friend wanted a new kitten. The employees there were so helpful. They had great cat rooms that were floor to ceiling glass to see the available kittens. The fees were minimal. It was a great experience.

This County shelter has dog runs and kitten rooms. They are full of stray dogs whose owners didn't update their microchip information. They have large viewing rooms for adoptable cats and very active kittens who instantly decided to climb up my legs the moment I told them I couldn't hold them because I was allergic to them. Come on over and find a "furever" friend to take home. And make sure to microchip your pets and keep your contact information current so that lost pet can be returned to you. The shelter can use your donations of towels, too.

I went to the shelter to adopt a cat or a 😸 kitten. Well , they had a sale going on for buy one get one free. So, $5.00 later I welcomed home Mia & Jo-Cee. Little cutie pies. They got spayed the next day. Had all their shots , microchipped and all . What a deal i got that day. This past year we lost our mother and daughter cats that were 17 and 18 yrs old. So I always said if I ever get another animal I would go adopt one from a shelter , one that needed a home. These kitty's are beautiful and are so loving like they are grateful for us coming to get them to join our family. I love them so much already. I had a great experience while visiting. The place was nice and clean. You have to have an appointment to go check out the dogs and cats for adoption . A certain time in the afternoon

On Tuesday, September 30th, and then again on Thursday, October 2nd., 2025, I went to this location to adopt a kitten. They have many kittens and cats, and dogs to adopt. The prices are incredibly low. I only paid $5 to adopt a kitten. I think it was half price because of my age but, anyways, I believe you can still adopt one and get one free. The people were friendly and it worked out well. Now I have a thirteen week old kitten name Steel. If you're looking to adopt a pet and you live in lake county, this is definitely the place you want to go to. I highly recommend it.

We adopted Binx a couple months back in February and have had the pleasure of loving him and having him as another family member. He's mine and my family's first cat and we couldn't ask for a more sweeter and cuter cat. The adoption process was easy, affordable, and the staff was kind and helpful. We definitely recommend coming here for any pet adoptions and will be returning for future adoptions.
