Extremely Disappointed – Failed When It Mattered Most I am beyond disappointed with this animal shelter. Every single time I called, I was told they were “at max capacity,” with zero compassion or willingness to listen. How are you at max capacity but can take other people’s animals in that weren’t on the list? This wasn’t a casual surrender — this was a serious, surrender that had animals lives at risk. I explained repeatedly that the owner was in a dangerous situation and was trying to do the right thing for the dog. Instead of understanding the urgency or showing any empathy, staff were rude, dismissive, and at one point threatened to get the dog warden like we weren’t already trying to get the dog out of a bad home by surrendering. The staff is so kind and you can tell they truly love the animals and want them to find their forever homes! We had the absolute best experience with them and ended up with the SWEETEST dog. ❤️🐾 I highly recommend adopting from them. They also sent us home with a small bag of toys and treats which was so generous! They even offered us a small portion of food if we didn't have any or couldn't pick any up that day.

My family adopted a wonderful dog here in 2021. I recently had my cat neutered and vaccinated here. The staff is friendly and efficient. They explained costs upfront so there were no surprises. (My only issue was google maps having the wrong address, so I submitted a correction to Talbott Dr).

Brandi & Kevin from the education outreach program at JCHS came to visit our 1st graders at Toronto City Schools. They brought special guests, Sandy & MauMau. They taught the students how to safely interact with animals, preventing animal cruelty & how to love them gently. They brought a book for each student & read it together. There was lots of love & smiles shared. Our smiles lingered long after they left. It was a great educational experience. The kids & teachers all loved it!! I highly reccomend contacting JCHS to make a visit at your school! ❤️😺🐶
