My 10 year old lab had complications from a mass removal. She had to have an emergency surgery bc her incision came apart performed by Dr. Shumar. She was amazing. My dog was seen here until her wound completely closed up which took about a month. They took such good care of her. Everyone was over the top nice. She stayed at the hospital for a total of 4 nights. I was able to call and check on her at anytime. Dr. Cheever was one of the best and thorough vets I’ve ever seen. Thank to all the nurses and staff who helped in her recovery!
I came here with no prior knowledge or experience with any animal ER when my cat was having some severe stomach problems. Aside from the stressful circumstances that lead me here, I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. Dr. Shumar took care of Levi and I’m very thankful she did. She was very kind, informative, and transparent about his immediate needs vs things that could wait for a follow up vet visit. Given the cost of an ER vs his regular vet, I am so grateful to have had help navigating the fine line between saving money and ensuring the comfort/health of my cat. The interior is very clean and pretty. It might not matter as much to others, but as a neurodivergent person, the environment greatly impacts an already stressful situation. The waiting room is cozy, I appr
Brought my boy Charley in as a referral from a different vet who didn’t have the resources to help him. Jefferson’s staff confirmed he had a urinary blockage and that he would need life-saving treatment. I expressed my concerns about the guilt of having drained my savings in order to save a different beloved pet earlier this year as well as an emergency trip to my home state for a human funeral, and feeling like I was a bad cat parent at even thinking that I wouldn’t be able to afford to save him. Thankfully, because we’d noticed his change in behavior so quickly, he was able to be treated as an outpatient and monitored at home vs staying in the hospital. It is only because Jefferson cared enough to give us that option that Charley Boy is alive today. The environment was judgement free, th
I've waited to write this review, so the overwhelming loss of our dog Bo wasn't written off of pure emotion alone. He passed away a couple days before Christmas last year. We still mourn his loss. On the day we took him to Jefferson he was uncomfortable. We knew something was wrong. First thing they told us was if admitted, we could visit him as much as we liked. We paid for someone to come that night to do an Ultrasound that showed pneumonia, we were told it didn't look that bad. He was able to come home with us that night. The next morning, he wouldn't eat so we took him back. We were worried so we visited once daily and nightly. During the visits we talked with Techs mostly, doctors when they made themselves available. The doctors rotate in and out so the information we were getting fr
I went in very late with my senior dog Thor, he had been having trouble that day. The staff were kind and helpful, they did some X-RAYS and walked me through each of them so I could see the issue. They explained the process that would need to happen and even put together an estimate for me. I didn't realize it would be over $5k for the surgery and hospitalization, and being that it was something he needed that night I had to say goodbye. The staff were extremely helpful in the process, and made sure to let me take all the time I needed to hold him one last time. They explained everything as it happened and carefully carried him off. They were all very supportive and mentioned that it was a kind, peaceful passing. I got a sympathy card in the mail as well, which was so thoughtful. All throu
