Jacksonville Animal Shelter

I went there on Thursday January 29th 2026. The guy working at the front desk, very chill and welcoming kind of guy. He helped me look at a boy puppy (my personal preference) and he was very nice . But oh my, the two women at the front desk. No other way to say this but they are very rude and inconsiderate. The way they talk to you is like they’re trying to belittle you. It is very frustrating. They got annoyed with me because I said I prefer a boy dog (I have 2 boy dogs already) . Why would I want to adopt an animal from here if there is people talking to me like I’m a child or have no idea what I’m doing. Me and my wife were very displeased with their attitudes. But the guy at the front desk. He gets a thumbs up. I think Jacksonville needs to reconsider who they hire. Their attitudes jus

Very friendly place with high-quality animals. We adopted Seraphim our new cat. It’s a blue Russian.

I am so happy with this shelter! Called about a little black lab & picked her up that day ❤️ She is adjusting amazingly! Even had her 1st pup cup. The kids love her! Thank you!

Called after finding an injured puppy and a young man showed up very fast and was caring yet professional. I appreciate them so much and was impressed by how seriously he took the puppies care.

Overall the serivce was alright but turns out the puppy we adopted had WORMS! We adopted her 8/13/2024 or 8/14/2024. She had a ton and we were not aware of this and i am wondering if they were. She couldn't have gotten from anywhere because we walk her outside and are able to see what she eats. This is very disappointing because it costed us a bit of money. If we knew that poor baby was so sick we definitely could've waited. Wish we were told about this. She also had another puppy in there with her when we adopted her so i pray they told whoever adopted it that she has worms.
