Jackson County Animal Shelter

Amy, Staff and the Volunteers are all above and beyond, we are so lucky to have a shelter who cares so much about our animals, they are friendly, kind, helpful and caring! Thank you so much for finding my perfect little partner in crime.

Back in may 2023 I fell on some hard times and I had to take the dogs to Black River Falls which is in Jackson County Wisconsin to the Humane Society I'm under the understanding that one was adopted out to a very good home that is so great to hear however my daughter is very upset with me because she wanted that dog but I had to do what I had to do and the other dog that was a very hard decision to let go of him and I miss him very much if I had the chance I would have kept him he was my emotional support animal and now I've been having a hard time mentally with the loss of both of those amazing animals I love animals with all my heart I still have that Green toy that he used to have and I can't get rid of and her my daughter misses so much along with me I still have her toys they're all m

I Adopted a golden doodle two weeks ago from Jackson County Animal Shelter. She is a great dog and the whole adoption process was a great experience. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I would highly reccomend checking out Jackson County Animsl Shelter when you're looking to add a pet to your family.

I had found a stray kitty outside of my home, and with the weather being rainy, I would not just leave her. I called the non-emergency number here in Black River Falls, and was able to meet an animal control officer at the shelter. The woman I encountered was extremely kind, showed genuine concern for the animal, and was all-around a wonderful person. The shelter was clean and inviting. I'm so thankful that it exists, and that they were able to take the kitty in. She was apparently at the shelter very recently, so hopefully if her owners didn't pick her up, someone who is responsible and willing to put the time into their pets adopted her.

Caring atmosphere, welcoming staff, listened to what I was looking for in a pet and directed me to best options and when to come in so I could find a better match.
