We had concerns about our 3 year old lab mix Oakley, with lack of socialization and obedience. A friend recommended we go talk to John. We went and met with him for a free consultation where he got to meet us &Oakley and evaluate him. We decided to do the board and train. John was very persistent as our dog took a while to warm up to him. Once he did, he started training him immediately and were so glad we brought him there. We now have confidence and control over our dog on walks, at home, when people come over our house, and he is now even less anxious. We truly can not recommend J Mac enough!!! Our 7 month old Pitbull mix, Rico, was developing aggressive and anxious behavior. Our Vet recommended J Mac dog training. We visited John for a free consult with the thoughts we would bring him out for training weekly. John took the time to explain our different options and his recommendations. AMAZING!!! Worth every penny. You call and schedule a free consultation where they meet your dog and talk to you about the different packages that they have. You pick what’s best for you and they are super flexible with appointments! I have a crazy work schedule and they are super understanding. My 7 month old Australian shepherd Cassie was very timid and cautious of strangers and was not able to control her energy at all. Our trainer Mel worked wonders with her! She took the time to have Cassie warm up to her with lots of treats and goochie goos. After the first couple sessions, Cassie was sooo excited to see Mel again! John is amazing. We took our Basenji to him. Basenji’s are African hunting dogs and are known to be one of the most stubborn breeds. Basenjis have only become domesticated over the past few generations. John is experienced with Basenjis and was AMAZING with our boy, Groot. Along with being stubborn they are highly intelligent and John knew exactly what would work with him. John doesn’t just train your dog but he teaches us owners too. John was observant of Groot’s mood through all training classes and if he became stressed John immediately stopped the training for that session explaining how it would be counterproductive. I am so very pleased with the results and honestly can’t believe how quickly John accomplished it.

My husband and I took our 4 month old pup Harley for board and train at J Mac K-9. She was a typical nippy, yappy German Shepherd puppy and our 3-year old granddaughter was terrified of her. We opted to do the in house board and train. After three weeks we got the call that Harley was ready to come home. When we got there to pick her up, Melanie did a presentation before the pup knew we were there. We were absolutely AMAZED by what they accomplished with her in just a few short weeks!!
