We brought our 13 year old cat here, Lily, due to a gastrointestinal emergency. Despite the circumstances, we truly felt at ease leaving her with the team at IAC Urgent Vets. Dr. Shevaun and Dr. Ingrid were incredible, explaining with detail and thoughtfully answering our many questions. Nurse Grace was super attentive, spoke English and Spanish to provide translations, and I truly believe it was her palpable care and support that helped heal Lily so quickly. An immense thank you to this team for saving my childhood pet, my mom's best friend, and an important part of my family.
I’ve actually brought my babies in a few times to this location due to some scares. I know I can count on this location to help support my cats and I during difficult situations. I have not been able to write a thorough review until today. My most recent walk in was actually today for my baby Arthur who had tummy issues. Our vet tech Mathew was wonderful in bed side manner and supporting our baby with his diarrhea. Our vet , Dr.Lemp, was also very thorough at explaining what may have caused the diarrhea and walked me through the best next steps in my baby’s care. During my last visit, I witnessed Dr. Shevaun Johnson run to help a kitten in critical need and carried/rushed a dog to the back for immediate attention. This level of care and commitment to pet care is incredibly reassuring. U
I am beyond grateful for the team at IAC in Elmhurst. My 1-year-old cat, Yoyo, had been sick for almost two weeks and couldn’t poop despite multiple vet visits, an enema, and antibiotics. No one could tell me what was actually wrong, and I felt completely helpless as she went four days without any bowel movement. When I brought her to IAC, everything changed. The receptionist and doctors were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding from the moment we walked in. They admitted her overnight and performed a thorough examination — the first time anyone had truly looked deeper into the issue. They discovered an abnormal stricture near her anus that was blocking her stool. They explained the situation clearly, walked me through every option, and treated Yoyo with so much care. Most importa
I made a rookie mistake bringing a bouquet of flowers inside Friday night. To my horror, my precious Scout was on top of my kitchen counter, merrily munching on the tip of a lily. A quick google search and I was rife with shock and dismay. I quickly called Blue Pearl who advised me to call ASPCA poison control. I did as much, and scurried over. Despite being told by poison control that time was of the essence, Blue Pearl was lackadaisical to say the least. While in their room for over 40 minutes, I called IAC who happily took my poison control number and told me to come in promptly. Here, they treated me with the urgency I really needed after realizing how toxic lily flowers are to cats. They had called poison control and were consulting for treatment within 5 minutes of my arrival. I had
12/29 visit - Very thorough last minute examination, they discussed all my options in a timely manner and made me feel like all bases were covered for my cat. It’s nice to know there’s an emergency vet nearby in case issues ever arise again. Dr Johnson and his team were very kind and helpful, and made sure to email me all my receipts and guidelines for medicine. Also they informed me if I need to come back within 24 hrs, it’s considered a courtesy walk in visit so it’s free of charge aside from any addtl testing/lab work/medicine which gives me ease of mind also
