We adopted our sweet kitty- Mabel (previously Trudy) in early October 2025. We instantly fell in love with her and knew she was the right fit for our family. The HSWC staff has been incredible with communication and efforts to ensure she has adjusted well and we had what we needed in place to have her care needs met. We truly appreciate this organization and the work they are doing.

The moment I saw this face online... I fell in love. We adopted my Roxie (or Foxie Roxie as we call her) back in October. I loved the fact that HSWC's website was updated frequently and accurate. There have been plenty of times in life when I've tried to adopt by searching online only to find that other sites were not updated frequently or at all and I was scared that after seeing Roxie online, I'd reach out to find she was no longer available but.... Nope! She was available. The adoption application process was fast, convenient and everyone I met at the shelter was amazing. You can just tell when people genuinely love what they do and I felt it here. When I brought her home, I felt knowledgeable and supported with no surprises (outside of the normal- new puppy stuff). I fully recommend su

We adopted JuJu from here, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. From start to finish, the process was thoughtful, kind, and centered around the animals. It was clear how much care and heart goes into making sure each pet is safe, loved, and truly ready for their next home. JuJu has been such a gift to our family, and knowing she came from a place where she was genuinely cared for makes it even more special. You can tell this is more than just a shelter — it’s a place filled with people who truly care about what they do. We’re so grateful for the work you do and for bringing our girl into our lives. Thank you for everything you do for these animals and the families who love them.

I recently adopted my sweet dog Maddie (formerly Nala) from the Humane Society of Walton Co. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and truly cared about helping Maddie find the right match. They allowed me to spend as much time as I needed to gain her trust and affection. The adoption process was smooth, and they took the time to answer all of my questions and tell me everything they knew about Maddie’s personality and background. It’s clear how much love and attention they give to each animal while they wait for their forever homes. It didn’t take Maddie long to win over her big brother, Sampson and it melts my heart to see them playing together. I’m grateful to the Humane Society for allowing Maddie & I to have the time together prior to adoption. If you’re thinki

I adopted my Belle (formerly tweetie) a little after new years. Shes about 5 months old now and is very spunky, she loves trash cans, dirty laundry, dirty towels, (she has two cat beds, and a queen size bed she has full access to at all times) and trying to steal human food while also doing parkour 24/7 😂 This place is great. You don’t have to jump through hurdles and such just to meet with a cat or dog, and they are very supportive to their community. I love how close knit the staff is, and how easy they are to talk to. I love how much they care about each and every animal that is there. Everyone I meet that’s looking for their next furry best friend I always suggest this place!
