Humane Society of the Ochocos

I adopted Mac last Saturday. The first couple of days I let him decompress for a couple of days. The dogs and I checked on him frequently. On Monday he started exploring. He sleeps on the bed with me and the dogs. Loves treats. Purrs constantly. Follows me everywhere. This was a good decision. The staff is great and very helpful! I will be a regular contributor to this fine institution. I encourage everyone to contribute to Ochoco Humane society!

Everyone was so nice. We lost our very old cat HammieCat 3 years prior. We were worried we wouldn’t be able to adopt another cat from a shelter because we have huskies, most places will not house cats with huskies. They are great together, the staff was wonderful, the vet we took him to for his neuter that the shelter had us go to were great. Everything was so easy and now we have a new best friend.

Adopt don't shop! And please spay and neuter! The staff here are doing a great job with what little they have but currently had 80 kittens in need of homes. We adopted a returned cat who is so sweet. The manager, Jessica, stayed after hours so I could make it out after work. Highly recommend coming here for your next pet, volunteer opportunity, or whatever else pulls at your heart strings.

I am beyond disappointed in the way this humane society has handled my situation. After seven months of caring for, loving, and being fully responsible for my dog, I was suddenly contacted for the first time ever—not with concern or compassion, but with threats of police involvement because my schedule didn’t align with theirs. There was no prior communication, no attempt to coordinate or work with me—just immediate intimidation. To make matters worse, they claimed that even after all this time, my dog still “belongs” to them, and they can take her back at any time. Their reasoning? A contract. That’s all they seem to care about—not the bond formed, not the quality of life I’ve given her, not any actual concern for the animal’s wellbeing—just paperwork. This organization clearly lacks em

This place is awesome. We adopted our Tove from them almost 2 years ago. And still go back to walk and play with other dogos.
