Cannot say enough good things about this. Place. The employees at the humane society take a job that could be sad and depressing and make it into something happy and joyful. Me and my husband have now adopted four dogs from this place, our newest one being Hank who we just adopted and who is fitting right into our family (pictured below). The adoption lady who helped us was extremely friendly and understanding and patient and I would recommend that anyone looking to add a new member to their family look no further than the humane society of south Mississippi. Remember to adopt and not shop!

The staff here are very helpful and patient and take their time to explain things to you. At the clinic side and at the adoption side they're just a good group of people that do everything they can to help you and your animal. I used to go to a local vet, but due to the cost I had to find another option and this Humane Society just fulfilled all my and my 115 lb German Shepherds needs! My pup had been tested positive for heartworm and they really walk me through it and worked with me because it's very costly. But I'm pleased to report that he was tested today in the heartworm treatment worked. Thank God and thank the Humane Society❣️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Going through heartworm treatment is incredibly stressful, but Humane Society of South Mississippi Vet Clinic has made the entire experience so much easier and more comforting than I ever expected. A huge thank you to Dr. Gina Cheuk, the front desk staff, and especially vet tech Charlie — truly an amazing team. They see so many dogs every single day, yet they somehow make you feel like you and your pup are never “just another appointment.” Every time we walk in, we’re greeted warmly, and they always know Ollie by name. That alone speaks volumes! They took the time to explain every step of heart worm treatment, answered all my questions with patience, and showed genuine care for both Ollie and myself. During such an emotional process, their kindness, reassurance, and attention to d

We went to adopt a little brother for our older Chihuahua. We didn't see a dog that we thought would be a good fit. The receptionist asked us if we had seen Coffee. I remembered him. He was sleeping quietly amid all the other barking dogs with his back to us. She brought him out to us and he went straight to my boyfriend. They both were smiling. We went back to get our Chihuahua and have a meet & greet. It was PERFECT! We had to wait for Coffee to be neutered and in a few days we brought him home. Coffee has been a blessing and we love him so much. He's made our home complete! Thank you!!!

This humane society should be renamed the ASHAME society. People visit a humane society for a handful of reasons. Either, they are experiencing a terrible time in life and have lost a loved family member, or, they’re looking to create what should be a joyful time in their life and looking to add a family member. It pains me to know that a once well run establishment, known for bringing happiness in the community and giving hope to/for lost/unhomed animals, has lost any glimmer of that. I lived there for many years, and would stop in to love on some of the babies any chance I got. Some of my best memories from my childhood were there. However, having not lived there since2013, I’m not sure what has changed but I am certain it has. The reviews here must be filtered because this is the only p
