We had been bringing our pets to Horn Lake Animal Hospital & Urgent Care for some time — our dog Titan had been there once or twice before, and we trusted this clinic enough to return when our puppy, Rich, suddenly fell ill. He had also gotten his first round shots here. Unfortunately, our experience during Rich’s final visit was heartbreaking and deeply disappointing. When we arrived that morning, it was clear that Rich was in distress. The veterinarian looked at him and could visibly tell something was seriously wrong, yet instead of taking the time to truly examine or investigate what was happening, we were met with more bills than support (they won’t even set up a payment plan). November 2021 - Cannot recommend AT ALL. After going here for years for all of our babies. Dr. Christy Allen told me I need to consider my dogs “quality of life” and have her put down due to her luxating patella. Our chihuahua was only 8. She said and I quote: no one will perform the surgery on her because of her age and even if they did, it would be $8-10,000. She said we need to have our baby girl put to sleep because she was limping due to that. I did not give up. I called around. Worst vet experience ever! I recently adopted a stray and wanted to get the puppy checked out. I found this place on a Google search and was attracted to the ad that stated first exam free and the exam checklist. I had an appointment but the reception staff wasn’t very welcoming. I prepared questions based off the checklist but when I get to the exam room the staff immediately states she’s giving vaccines which I wasn’t there for without discussing it with me, giving me options, a price list or determining the puppies age. They took her to the back and brought her back 3 minutes later concluding the exam. Being our first time I really wanted to be apart of the exam and hold her while she got her shots and ask questions during the checklist. I know nothing of what happened, what she receive

Horn Lake Animal Hospital had seriously gone down. I used to not mind paying the high price for the service but I have 4 dogs and every time I go in this vet the last couple years I’m there for 5 minute visit. They ask you questions but walk away before you can answer anything about your dog. It’s rush in, rush out. Seems like it’s all about the money now. I have 4 dogs that have always gone here but for the last year or two I have been really upset with the service here. Any time you say something they are soooo condescending in their responses. I spend THOUSANDS of dollars here. I have been contemplating changing for a while but after these yearly shots i will definitely be finding a new vet

I took my dog in to be seen (3/3/26) only to be brought back paperwork with an estimate of what they thought they had to do. My Maxx was never seen by the doctor. I only spoke with someone that came in and asked what was the reason for my visit. No vitals was checked or anything. My Maxx passed 4 hours later.
