I would rate this organization NEGATIVE stars if possible. Please be careful about spending your hard earned charity dollars with them. We had a boarder from American Legacy Stables that had adopted a horse through Hooves & Paws who wanted to move her horses because the situation with Dorothy Turley at American Legacy had become intolerable. She was told that they could not move to our facility, Miracle Hills Ranch & Stables, because it was not approved. Dorothy insisted that SHE (not the boarder) owned the horse but the boarder had paid board and expenses for the adopted horse to American Legacy because the boarder believed from the adoption approved paperwork from Hooves & Paws that the horse had been adopted and belonged to her. This place is horrible. They recently stole 26 horses from a man. Hooves and paws claimed these animals were being starved. This was a far cry from the truth. A few of the horses had worms. The owner was giving these colts extra hay and protein and had plans to get his vet out to look at them but they didn't give him that opportunity. They claimed they were being starved yet hooves and paws literally drove right by 40 round bails of hay. Within hours of their "rescue" they were begging for donations. They allowed one of the horses to get a huge gash on its shoulder and one to die in their care. I would not give this group of animal abusers a dime. They are pulling in donations from unaware individuals. Preying on their sympathy. It's horrible that they have gotten by with this for as long

If you know "nothing" about equine this is the rescue for you. Leaders and volunteers lack health, nutrition, and handling knowledge. This rescue lacks in home checks, space, and appear to becoming a hoarding spot for equine. Vets and farriers Nebraska wide refrain from working with this rescue. Fostering, all expence's get dumped on you, best interest of the horses situation is not taken into consideration. Review of your applications consist of fb stocking. I know several horses were placed with no vet references checked and a home check consisted of a drive by. She will ask for photos of your "adopted" horse and post on her fb page and still collecting donations on an animal that they are not funding. She gladly will taking all credit for a horses well being and improvements not even kn

Gina and Billy donate blood, sweat, tears, and dollars out of their pocket. Gina is very particular about who can foster or adopt, but she wants to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of all the animals in her care.
