awesome staff. the young lady I worked with ( forgot her name) she was so kind & made it a wonderful experience for me & my husband. we've adopted Tuxedo & he has been the best cat EVER! I honestly cant wait to adopt again. Thank you all again.

Dropped off old towels n blankets. It winter and they are in need. Only took 5 mins in my linen closet and a paper bag and five minute drive. To know it will help n keep a puppy or kitty warm is well worth it. Please do the same...

We fostered two kittens through Homeward Bound and it was a nightmare. Max, one of the kittens, crashed early on… and we syringe-fed him every 2 hours for 3 days straight to save his life. He bounced back and was thriving. When he crashed again a few weeks later, we rushed him to our own vet (5 minutes away instead of driving 45m) and paid $600 out of pocket to stabilize him, then brought him, his sister and all records from our emergency visit to Homeward Bound. Three days later, without a single call to us, they euthanized Max. We only found out after the fact — despite us clearly stating our intent to adopt. Got my baby remy! From homeward bound to Virginia bound!!! Update: I took went to go to their event as the other reviews it very busy and hectic!!! But you get seen fairly quickly.Iinitially i wanted a certain dog but I was asked what kinda dog i was looking for, I told them kids and pets friendly and calm but some energy. I have an autism son so this is a gift for moving to Virginia! Well in person miss Remy was shy quiet not very responsive I guess you can say. Even on my own walk to meet the 3 candidates they suggested she was very calm. My son didn't have any reaction actually ignored her which was perfect, well here we are almost a week later and miss Remy has not stopped barking yet! Literally I mean it's non stop!!!! I have run a horse rescue and adopted horses for over 6 years. Yet always had trouble adopting dogs. The process was always super critical and kept families at a disadvantage. If you didn't have a fenced yard? No. Small kids? No. Always excuses. Going here was so REFRESHING the process is good enough to keep pets safe but easy enough to not discourage adopters. And if its not the right fit? The process to bring the pet back and just find a better fit is easy and nonjudgemental. I personally adopted "pebbles" and she is amazing. She fit in here as if she's always lived with me. She loves my kids and loves her very tiny jack Russell sister.
