Adoption service focussing on the rescue of hunting dogs that are abandoned by their owners because they get a little older and can’t keep up with the pack or are too gentle to perform on the hunt. These hounds are abandoned in the swamp and find their way to this organization where they receive veterinary care and are fostered in a beautiful home in the country while awaiting adoption.

I rescued Yancey six years ago. He is the sweetest boy ever. Ms Patricia is the best and what she does is amazing. I would recommend Hokies Hounds to any Beagle lover. If you can find it in your heart to rescue any of these sweet beagles you will be rewarded 10 times over!!

In 2007, Joan and I traveled to Baton Rouse to view a Beagle up for adoption. The one we saw on line, when we got there, was too hyper and attached to the rescuers. I found this other Beagle in the back of his cage. Putting my hand up to the cage, he came over and sniffed my hand, didn't lick it just sniffed. We took him for a walk outside at PetMart, and all the Brownies and Girl Scouts having their cookie sale said, " Hi Harley". Well Harley came home with us that day, and for 11 years he gave his undivided love, laughter and joy. Harley traveled with us for my work, from LA to MS, to TX, to CA, to AL our home when he had 1300 square feet of back yard and squirrels to play and chase, then on to FL. Sadly, Harley, do to old age and injuries from Hurricane Katrina, he joined our other Beag
