Hillside Veterinary Clinic – Auburn, MA | Central MA Vet Care

I was in for my appointment today and ended up having a longer wait than expected due to another pet having an emergency. The staff was very communicative of the situation and that the doctor would come in when she was able to. I appreciate how they handled the situation and if my pet ever has an emergency while receiving care the team is competent and I know my pet would be fully taken care of here. I have been coming here for years and my experiences have always been pleasant. Such a great, compassionate team!

🚨 BEWARE 🚨 I wish I could give less than 1 star. They took an already urgent situation and made it 10x worse. In my experience, they tried to push and charge for services my dog did not need, including unnecessary X-rays. I’m so tired of vets wanting to radiate animals without clear medical justification. They misdiagnosed my dog, and when I called to explain that the diagnosis was wrong and that they had tried to overcharge me by around $800 for treatments she did not require, their response was not concern for my pet—it was to call the Auburn Police on me and have a stay-away order put in place. A big shout out to Hillside doctors and staff for taking such good care of Scout during her recent issue. My husband and I have always found your staff to be very attentive, and friendly which makes for an overall welcoming environment. One thing that was appealing to us is that Hillside is not a corporate owned clinic. Prior to coming to your clinic, we were surprised at how many clinics are corporate owned and you don’t even realize it. However after coming to your clinic, we have now witnessed and experienced the difference. My husband and I find the corporate clinics to be not as inviting and you feel like just a number. Thank you to the Hillside staff for providing such good care for my senior poodle and my 4 year-old cat. We have been bringing our various pets to this clinic for over 20 years and have never had any issues. Very caring group and interested in my pets' well-being. I will start by saying I have had very pleasant interactions with all the staff members at Hillside, they have always been so sweet to my little man and get excited to see him, so this review is not a reflection of them as employees at all. My dog has been a patient there for almost 2 years, the first Vet he saw was Dr. Connolly and I believe if he was kept under her care I would have never had the experience that I did. His regular wellness checks have always gone well, and I've never had a concern with basic care. My dog had a health concern and in August I was told that he didn't need surgical intervention and that it could be "left alone" based on the testing that was done.
