Highland Veterinary Hospital I don’t normally post about stuff like this but this is absolutely ridiculous. We took Murphy and Winston in to get their heart worm and tick shots. They charged us $120 for a “wellness exam” (checking vitals). Then on top of that they asked if we wanted to get Murphy his Lyme and Leptospirosis shot and we said yes. Come to find out they ALSO gave Winston those shots even though he wasn’t due for them until June and we didn’t even ask for him to get those shots. They also gave them their bordetella which also wasn’t due until June, again we DIDNT ASK FOR! After talking with management all they took of was the bordetella and refused to take the other shots we didn’t ask for off. Our bill was $844. That is absolutely unacceptable. I've known the staff at Highland for years, because the Gormley's generously took care of the animals for the rescue I worked with. I still take one of my older cats with complicated food issues to them even though I live all the way across town, and they recently worked me in very quickly to give a second opinion on another who is having health problems we're trying to diagnose. Even though he's not a regular patient, they took time to peruse his records and talk to me in detail personally before ordering a couple less common tests. I know I can turn to Dr. Gormley, Carol and Molly for great advice when I need it and I know how much they care for the animals they treat.

One of the worst Veterinary Clinics. Our dog ate 90% of a rubber bib. We took her in because unfortunately, were still tied to this clinic. They pumped her twice with little pieces coming out, which was not the problem. My wife called around due to such high costs related to surgery. Once we found out that was the next step. Once, we got a better price and she went in to grab our dog, my wife got bullied from the nurse and Dr. Saying "Good luck, your going to need it". When asked, if we should feed her tonight, they slammed the door in her face. Previous visits having gone here for a year, they never remembered our dogs names or genders and they never followed up. Highland Vet misdiagnosed my cat after spending $775 on tests. He lost 3 lbs in a few weeks, not eating, his mood changed. He had been constipated previously so I thought it might be an internal blockage. Highland charged me almost $300 for X-rays (my new vet said that could have deciphered that by an exam and the X-rays were unnecessary). I requested routine bloodwork (CBC blood panel) and they ran every test they could and charged me for it. They told me my cat’s bloodwork came back normal and that he must just be distressed bc of the new cat (I had recently fostered a cat which is the only reason I went to this vet). This didn’t make a lot of sense bc my cat loves other animals. My gut was telling me to get a second opinion. The new vet reviewed his files and said “HIS BLOODWORK

Highland has helped my two senior cats (14 and 14+ years old) TREMENDOUSLY! 😺 COMMUNICATION- Team members have stayed in contact with me throughout the process. Promptly updating me with tests results, treatment plans, and even to calm my worries. (I need written correspondence to remember and refer to and they have been wonderful communicating via texts and emails- which works best for me.) 🥰 COST- Is the best for this level of care , that I’ve found in Evansville. 🤑 CARE- All staff treat my fur-friends and me with consideration and compassion. 😻 TOBY- He’s a bird.
