Highland County Dog Pound

Poor people skills, rude, inconsiderate of what they say before saying it. Heartless. I understand having a job assignment but using the heart in your chest instead of your mouth on your face full of haste comments bringing someone down to tears. Bringing up matters of the past that involved a wrongful death of not one but two dog not even within your jurisdiction just to show authority in she system isn’t a flex it’s just cruel. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, and to have to relive it or bring it back up when not relevant is simply wrong. They need more patience, understanding, and willingness to take time and talk to there clients or visitors to better make a peaceful situation. Apparently. They only accept found dogs if they were found in the county. Called me rude because I told them to do their job and take this lost dog in so he dont freeze in this cold ass December in Ohio winter.

Taylor was extremely helpful in helping us find the right dog for my 85 yo mom. We got the best pup ever from there. 13 weeks and an Aussiedor! Thank you guys for treating us so well!! Would definitely deal with them again for a great dog!

I adopted Teddy, now Skipper, last Saturday 6/14/25. He is such a sweet boy! Thank you to the shelter! The warden that helped us was so sweet and we can't thank her enough for making sure we got the right dog.
