Henderson Animal Shelter

These are awful people. People abondon animals where I live. And I tried to bring some by, got on the waitlist. Took care of the little fellas for 6 months while waiting. I called one day and it turns out they never put me on the waitlist because I'm not worth their time.

No-kill shelter that cares On 9/3/19, my family rescued these two dogs from an abandoned house where they'd been dumped. They were covered with fleas and ant bites and were so scared. We already have three large dogs and don't have room for more, but we couldn't just leave these sweet dogs in that situation. So, we took them to the Henderson animal shelter. Unfortunately, they were full and couldn't take them. But they promised if we would foster them, they would contact us when they did have room. Well, long story short, they kept their word. A month later, everything worked out and they went to the shelter, where Gillie was adopted and Bowie was rescued by a Lab organization. The staff was caring and helpful. Great experience! Friendly staff. Took a great dog home. Unfortunately, he hated my other animals, so we had to take him back. Thankfully, he went home with another family. We did end up taking a dog and cat home the second time, and we absolutely love them! The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. I can't wait to go back again assuming my husband will let me go 🤪😂

The ladies there were very nice and helpful. We went in to look at dogs, and were concerned when they said they only had one left, but he was a great puppy and we took him home that day. All of the facilities looked nice and clean and all of the animals seemed happy and well taken care of. The paperwork was fast and easy and they even microchip the animals for you and give you vacine and neutering coupons which was very nice. Overall great shelter!

I received 2 new babies. Ella and Fury. They do so much to promote adoption and being responsible animal parents. They give vouchers for getting your pet spayed/neutered and rabies shots. 35 $usually is the cost baring anything else going in with your pet. Other shots cost more. Bottom line, it is affordable. Wonderful staff.
