Helping Hounds Dog Rescue

We adopted our little peanut Chihuahua mix over a year ago and we loved her so much. She quickly tried to stake her claim as queen of the house with the cat and our other dog but they kind of sure that title now. She's very pampered but she still has accidents in the house and we were told she was fully housebroken so that's been a challenge. Accidents aside we love her. Her name was Baby Girl when we got her but now her name is Miss Harlow Jean.

This is a great place to adopt a pup. They take great care of their animals and make sure they are going to a loving home. My adoption application was quickly approved and we came home with our new pup. We love him and thank you for taking care of all the pups you take in.

We recently got a puppy a few months ago - and realizing that we wanted another puppy. (By ‘we’ I mean myself - and my wonderful husband was just supportive 😂) we were approved first by seventh heaven, went through the whole process which in turn we were denied the puppy we applied for because I give my puppy CBD as he has severe tummy issues and after $3,000 worth of tests, is still undiagnosed. After searching for another rescue that isn’t power hungry, I stumbled upon HHDR. The application process was so smooth. We went to the rescue, met Rayghen (now Willow) and absolutely fell in love with this sweet girl. We just dropped off a donation and wanted to see what dogs were in house. We were told to look at pictures in a book? I don’t understand why we were not allowed to go in to see the available dogs? Sometimes you can get a sense for a dog while they are in their pens. We have an approved application on file! There was no issues a few weeks ago during the fund raiser when hundreds of people were allowed to see the dogs in their pens. It could just be the person who we were dealing with at the desk- not friendly- or helpful- would not tell us why we couldn’t go back to the pens to ee the dogs. We had been there several times before as we are looking to adapt and never had a problem with any one else
