Heartwood Animal Hospital

There are not enough words to express our absolute gratitude for Heartwood Animal hospital. From the front desk, to the vet techs to the vets, they are all amazing. We had to put our little Schnoodle down today and even though they only saw her three times, they were like family the whole time. In those three visits, they were kind, compassionate and were clear on our available choices but never judged us for the choices we made. Thank you will never be enough. It’s taken me a few weeks to bring myself to post a review. Our Crosby has always received excellent care at Heartwood. What we thought was some kind of cough was expertly diagnosed by Dr. Shephard as a hemangioma sarcoma with cardiac complications. They shared their findings and coordinated care with a cardiologist and surgeon at the Wake Emergency practice in Knightdale. Unfortunately he failed very quickly and we called Heartwood to ease his suffering. We were told to bring him at any time, they had a room prepared, the fluorescent light was turned off, calming music was played, a standing lamp was provided. Soft bedding was on the floor for our boy. Every staff member was absolutely wonderful, gave of their time and gave us unlimited time to say goodbye. We were given a buzzer to let t

I have an older dog who is not a huge fan of vet visits. From the start, when I called to inquire about an appointment, I was up front about what I was looking for in an appointment and how my dog does best. From the call, to the booking to the actual appointment, everyone was fantastic and I never felt like they were pushing for more than me or my dog were comfortable with. In particular, Dr. Landa was an absolute wealth of knowledge and extremely kind and gentle with my dog. She did what was best for him and did not do any sort of sales tactics you see at other vets. I will be coming here forever, they are that good. Lastly, I did want to mention the pricing was absolutely fair too if you are concerned about that.

I’m disappointed. I recently transferred all three of my dogs to this Animal Hospital. They’ve seen one of my dogs with excellent care however, today I called just to have one of my other dogs nails trimmed because we’re going on vacation. The lady said that we need to charge to establish care and have a doctor see him just to have his nails trimmed. I would think his care was establish when his records transferred from his previous vet that shows he’s up-to-date on all of his shots. They have all of his documentation he’s in need of nothing Just his nails trimmed very disappointed. This review will hopefully change for the better, time will tell.

I’ve been going to Heartwood for the past three years, and I have to say—they consistently go above and beyond! The vets and staff are all incredibly kind, caring, and truly invested in the well-being of your pets. They’re also very accommodating and always have your pet’s best interest at heart. I highly recommend them! Thank you, Heartwood, for everything you do—and for being so sweet to Ollie!!
