Heartland Pet Salon

I had a really upsetting experience at Heartland Salon today. I brought in my 5-year-old Yorkie/Poodle mix, Río, and spent several minutes explaining that I wanted to keep his beard for a schnauzer-style cut. I explicitly said NOT to shave his beard and even showed a photo of Río with his freshly groomed beard for reference. His beard is his signature feature and he gets compliments on it almost every day. When I picked him up, the receptionist told me they had “accidentally cut the beard” and offered a 10% discount. While I was paying, she even asked if I wanted to leave a tip, which felt inappropriate given the situation. When I finally saw Río, his entire muzzle and face had been completely shaved down. My puppy just had her first grooming session with Heartland. She looks beautiful! The salon is clean, well run and their prices are very reasonable. They clearly care about their clients and take good care of them!!

My long haired cat got himself quite matted and was in need of a good bath and cut. I found Alisa and her team on google- they got me an appointment within a week. Everyone I encountered was so pleasant and helpful- check in took only minutes, and my boy was off for the spa day I could only dream of! When I picked my kitty up he smelled so good and he looks amazing! He's knot free and much happier! Will definitely be back!

I have an 11 month old Aussie Mix(he looks very much Border Collie). We have never owned this breed… we have basically had Chocolate Labs. We adopted our sweet boy, at an adoption event, after our matron lab crossed the rainbow bridge. That said, I realized he was going to need to be professionally groomed. After a disappointing first attempt to get him groomed(a complete FAIL), I decided to contact Heartland. I called and expressed my concerns as well as asked questions. I was pleasantly surprised that I was taken seriously and listened to. I made an appointment! If I could give it a 0 star I would. The owner and groomer (Maura) both scolded me on a booking/scheduling issue when their own worker at the desk scheduled my appointment time. My dog was stressed and coughing after the appointment while I was being scolded by the two of them and later I noticed that her eye was bloodshot (pictures don’t do it justice, it was way worse to the naked eye) and she was throwing up foam all night from an irritated throat. My best guess is that one of them mishandled her or she got choked from the thing they put around her neck, after I specifically ask them not to put anything around her neck every visit. Seems oddly fishy to me that my dog is hurt and they scolded me about my scheduled appt time. I could go on about the terrible experience with screenshots bu
