Absolutely precious and wonderfully run organization. All of the guinea pigs here are in wonderful hands, surrounded by love and cared for by people who truly are passionate about Guinea pigs and want to keep them safe. This place mainly runs on donations and paid Guinea pig boarding, and they accept (paid) surrenders and do adoptions. While we were there we witnessed the superior care demonstrated during a surrender and initial medical check in, as well as two adoptions. There were lots of supplies and information they were giving away to adopters and they ensure the guinea pigs go to educated homes. They have Guinea pigs of all colors shapes and sizes for adoption as well as some permanent resident guinea pigs with special needs. Amazing organization we were delighted to visit!!

They saved my guinea pig’s life. I brought my guinea pig to Angell West because there was blood in his urine. They suspected he had a bladder stone (Which I suspected). I spent over $600 for them to X-Ray and an antibiotic. They said he should stay on antibiotic for two weeks and just see what happens - completely unhelpful. He bled more and I couldn’t watch him go through that so I turned to the Guinea Pig sanctuary. Nurse Jackie and director Kim helped incredibly and offered to see him, and help take care of him full time! He was given a full health check and x-ray as well as full care all FREE of charge! Under all the staff’s care, he somehow passed the stone which given the size, was deemed impossible by the veterinarians at Angell. I am so grateful for their work and encourage any do

Our daughter wanted a guinea pig for Christmas and after doing some research we found the Guinea Pig Sanctuary in Salisbury. We drove over an hour and a half to the sanctuary to hopefully pick out a couple pigs. The volunteers at GPS were friendly, kind and most of all knowledgeable. We left with these two sweet boys who had just been surrendered before Christmas. They are happy, healthy little pigs and have been a joyous little addition to our family.

I have been here three times over the years to visit the piggies, and this year I finally bit the bullet and adopted two girls. I have to say the people that work/volunteer there are so knowledgeable and so passionate about what they do. They were willing to give away anything extra they had, gave me a carrier to bring the pigs home in, and helped me find a free cage left out front. I feel confident that I made the right choice to adopt from here, and confident that any piggy that ends up at the sanctuary is in some good hands.

Really impressed with this organization. It’s a wonderfully run place where the passion for guinea pig welfare is obvious. They handle everything from boarding to adoptions with incredible care; we even saw them managing a surrender and medical check-in with total professionalism. It was actually my first time holding a guinea pig, and getting to feed them blueberries and celery was an amazing highlight. Whether you’re looking to adopt or just want to support a great cause, this place is fantastic. So glad we visited!
