Great Rivers Animal Hospital

We recently had a health scare one of our cats. Great Rivers got us in quickly and we were able to wait in office for bloodwork, diagnosis and medicine. The doctors and staff are professional, caring, and most of all, pet lovers themselves. Also got a follow up call at home a few days later to check on our kitty. This was the most genuine veterinary visit I’ve ever experienced at River Animal Hospital. The vet truly listened, cared, and quickly identified what was going on with my dog. They got him started on medication right away and explained everything clearly, which gave me so much peace of mind. They also made the thoughtful decision to safely sedate him to trim his nails, and they did an amazing job. The entire team handled him with patience and compassion. You can feel when people are in this profession for the right reasons, and that’s exactly how it felt here. I’m so grateful we found them and would absolutely recommend River Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a vet who genuinely cares.

I was thankful I was able to get my dog in the same day I called because he was sick. The staff was friendly and the wait to see the Dr was only about 10 minutes. The new facility is nice, modern and clean. BUT, the cost of services definitely reflects the new branding and facility. I understand inflation and rising costs but there were things that were outrageous. $30 for a nail trim when the dog is already there for an illness? I already paid $72 just to walk in the door for the office call. I'll only be using this facility as a back up when my regular vet isn't able to see my pets.

I’m new to the area and came to Great Rivers after a disappointing experience at a different vet. Great Rivers listened to my concerns and addressed everything I mentioned. I felt as though they truly cared for my cat and his wellbeing and not just money. Everyone I came into contact with was very kind. I 100% recommend them!

I would not recommend taking your pet here to be euthanized. We needed someone that day and nobody else had availability when we could go. They charge more than anybody else, twice as much as our own vet (ridiculous that they price gouge for something like this). When I called, the receptionist was very loud and very cheery. I get she can't know what someone is calling for, but you have to know it can happen and keep that in mind. We did a lot of waiting in a very tiny room, there were 4 of us to say goodbye to our pet. The ladies administering care were sweet and calm, however after our pet crossed over, we were made to wait about 10 minutes with our now deceased pet so they could look for a box.... why wouldn't you have that ready?
