Golden Paws Animal Hospital

My three dogs have received care at Golden Paws. Following some reflection and correspondence with them on my dog Statler, I will be using another vet in Denver. Care, triage, and communication with this vet has usually been good over the last 6 years. My 6 year old boxer was seen here for an ear hematoma, where it was advised we have a drain put in and monitor him while he rests with a cone. We were discharged with a cone and gauze rope securing the cone to my dogs head. He backed out of the cone as the gauze was not secure enough, ate the gauze, and began to bloat due to the obstruction. Golden Paws is such a wonderful office! They are reliable, responsive to urgent appointment needs and have cared for my pups for 7 years. I am so grateful to have had them when my first dog was getting older and reaching the end of her life. They were so good with my first dog and now are the go-to office with my two new dogs. Really love the service and thoughtful recommendations that help me make the best choices for my furry family members.

I visited Golden Paws for the first time this week, and will be permanently switching to them for my primary vet! I cannot say enough about them. My kitty was very sick, had visited the ER vet and wasn't getting better, so I took her to Golden Paws. Maggie was extremely kind and quick over the phone, getting us an appointment that day. And Dr. Ben was so incredible! He listened to everything going on, was very thorough and empathetic with all the information, and has checked in on my kitty twice since the appointment. She is healing and back to normal and I could not be more grateful!

I was hopeful about this clinic’s “fear free” model and liked the quiet lobby, music in the exam rooms, and transparent pricing. Unfortunately, our visit with Dr. Sarah was very unpleasant. She didn’t greet my timid dog and immediately took him out of the room to examine him without me present. She returned saying he had peed, pooped, expressed his anal glands, and tried to bite out of fear — none of which has ever happened before - and made him wear a muzzle the rest of the visit. It makes me wonder what kind of treatment my dog received behind closed doors to make him so fearful. He was brought back with stool on his fur and pee on his leash, and I was asked to clean him up myself. When I expressed concern, there was no apology or acknowledgement.
