Georgia Poodle Rescue

I recently adopted the sweetest boy from Georgia Poodle Rescue after reading his heartbreaking story. Georgia Poodle Rescue is run by a true animal lover and advocate. It was obvious during every step of the process that the owner puts the needs of her rescue animals first. She works tirelessly to care for them, train them, LOVE them, and find the right home for them. The extremely thorough vetting process shows how serious they are about making sure their dogs are properly placed. The application was extremely detailed and the meet and greet gives everyone the opportunity to ensure it’s a good fit. I had a terrible experience with this organization 8 years ago. I filled out a 10 page application, updated any questions they had, paid my fee, and was ready to adopt a brother and sister toy poodle pair. They never visited our home and dismissed us outright for unknown reasons. Anyway, I adopted a sweet puppy who rules the roost here, goes on every family vacation, sleeps on the bed of one of five family members every night, and has walks by the river every day. I think he is well adjusted and happy. I am looking to adopt a companion for him, but I will not waste my time with the GA poodle nazis. It’s a real shame for the dogs and for the disappointed families who want to provide a home. Visit the Humane Society instead; you’ll be much happier and treated with more kindness.

They share many amazing poodles that deserve a home and as A dog lover like myself I really wanted to adopt one. Unfortunately, I submitted my application as well as updated my application when they asked for me to and sadly never heard back. I totally understand that emails get lost or businesses get busy, but I never received confirmation if I was accepted to meet the dog and or denied. Either way, I still wish nothing but the best for those pups and their new families!

Edited: Mean-spirited and unprofessional, unnecessarily heavy-handed. No need to be rude, GA Poodle Rescue; I am not being retaliatory at all. Shouldn't others know how your organization operates? I said nothing untruthful in my review. I am interested in the truth and the truth is you got personal very quickly with an attack on my business. If you cannot respond professionally it should warn others of what to expect from your organization. Damaging others simply for sharing honest feedback is bad business. Rules are rules. There’s no doubt that the volunteers of this organization care passionately about these dogs, some of whom have been rescued from deeply tragic situations. There’s no doubt they rehabilitate them well. However, don’t expect any grace if you do not meet their criteria

My mother wanted to adopt a puppy mill poodle, Gracie from GA Poodle Rescue. She hadn't had a dog since her 30's, due to her husband dying at age 34, then raising her 2 daughters as a single mom, and not getting a dog while she lived alone and worked too much. Wasn't good enough for Georgia Poodle Rescue. She needed a vet's name and number, which she didn't have due to wanting to be a RESPONSIBLE dog owner during her years of working for her family. Very sad as my mother has owned two poodles, she lives with me and I've owned a poodle. Her next option will be to purchase a poodle from a breeder. I'm sorry they are so rigid in their rules. My mother really wanted Gracie and would have given her a loving home. Update: I've since read the owner had been arrested back in 2015, I believe
