Galleon Treasures

What an amazing place, a must visit for anyone in the area looking to experience some culture and meet some amazing birds.

A great place that is fulfilling a much needed cause. It's wonderful seeing the birds living in flocks and outside instead of some places where they are isolated inside in individual cages. This place gives parrots a place to be themselves, to be birds and live a more natural life. So many get shuffled around from home to home and being here gives them stability as well as fresh air, sunshine and companions. I hope donations and help can come in to ensure such a place can keep going...there are more homeless parrots or parrots in need than anyone can imagine and there just isn't enough resources for them out there. I also enjoy visiting to say hello to them all and watch how they are...it's endearing and amusing too :)

My wife and I recently found a hidden treasure while exploring the area around Barefoot Bay on our bicycles. Tucked away off Micco rd we found the Galleon Treasures Parrot Sanctuary. The owner/operator saw us ride up and invited us to enjoy the sanctuary at our leisure and could answer any questions for us if needed. So many different types of parrots all shapes and sizes, we had so much fun talking and interacting with them. The owner (Dan)took time from his many chores around the sanctuary to gives us the history and circumstances of many of his parrots. We enjoyed the afternoon so much and are grateful for people like Dan who devote so much of their money any time to helping these beautiful birds.

Galleon Treasures is awesome. Commodore Daniel Red is super cool. He has over 100 exotic birds he’s caring for, all from generous donations. He is also a book writer, treasure hunter, scuba diver, and pirate enthusiast. He’s genuinely doing great work with all of these rescued birds and I would encourage people to visit (call ahead) and donate if they’re able.

What a beautiful bird sanctuary tucked in between Melbourne and Sebastian. A vast array of tropical birds that have been rescued and/or being re-habbed. Knowledgeable and passionate owner. The place could benefit from more visitors with light donations to help with specialty care that is needed from time to time. This was such a special find on Highway US-1 just behind the Grant Antique Malls. Give a hug and kiss to the new female African Grey! I hope her new plume comes in full soon!
