Free To Be Me Rescue

They are not thorough in their review. Tried to adopt a chihuahua and after trying to get a response from them, even referencing a friend who adopted several dogs from them and who knows the incredibly well. Nothing. Finally when I got a response I was rejected because I did not have a fenced in yard. I’ve had dogs for over 30 years and they’ve all lived long healthy lives. Wow…definitely Don’t believe the hype about them….

Met all requirements and was denied. Cried pretty hard. Maybe because I'm disabled. Reps responded back via email within 24 hours.

I applied for a dog took all the right steps by calling, leaving voicemails and emailing. No one got ahold of me until after I finally was approved for adoption by another RESCUE. When they did respond I received a 3 sentence email (I wouldn't even call them sentences.) You would think a rescue would include in posting an animal not getting along with a specific animal on all platforms not just their website. I'm very disappointed and even more so after reading other low star reviews.

We have now adopted a dog and a cat from Free to Be Me and had such a great experience both times. You can tell that they care about all of the animals like their own! Would certainly recommend this rescue and go through them for future adoptions.

Unfortunately they are too busy to review applications in a timely fashion. It took me over two weeks to get a response and the dog I was interested in meeting was already adopted. They also WON'T BEND for as little as 10 miles out of their 1 hour drive range. Such a shame, to lose great adopters due to inefficiency.
